Album Review: Darker Than Blue

Darker Than Blue: Soul from Jamdown (1973-1980) is a compilation of reggae covers of some classic seventies soul - and the covers are even better than the originals. The album features rock steady singers Ken Boothe, Al Brown, Alton Ellis, Delroy Wilson and others. Without exception, every song on this album is solid, and together they create a mood that is dark, gritty, and soulful.
Here are a few of the tracks:

Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City

Is it Because I'm Black

Why Can't We Live Together
