Although many of Ike and Tina Turner's songs are covers, their versions are usually better then the originals. Ike and Tina crossed paths with the Stones on several occasions, including opening for them at Altamont.

Otis Redding had a particular affinity for The Rolling Stones. He covered many of their songs, often interpreting them in interesting ways. When he played them live he would say, "Here is a song from the soul band that I dig the most."
